IPL
What is IPL?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light.
It is a light-based treatment that uses a broad spectrum of high-intensity light to target skin issues.
Unlike lasers, IPL uses multiple wavelengths, so it can treat several skin concerns at once.
Often called a photofacial when used for cosmetic skin treatments.
Uses of IPL
1. Skin Rejuvenation
- Improves skin tone and texture.
- Reduces fine lines and minor wrinkles.
- Gives skin a brighter, youthful glow.
2. Pigmentation & Spots
Treats sunspots, age spots, freckles, and uneven skin tone.
3. Vascular Issues
Reduces redness, broken capillaries, spider veins, and rosacea.
4. Hair Removal
Can be used for long-term hair reduction (less precise than laser).
5. Acne & Scars
Helps reduce acne lesions and post-acne pigmentation.
How IPL Works
- Light energy penetrates the skin and is absorbed by melanin (pigment) or hemoglobin (blood vessels).
- Heat destroys the targeted cells without damaging surrounding tissue.
- Stimulates collagen production for firmer skin.
Benefits of IPL
- Non-invasive, non-surgical, minimal downtime.
- Can treat multiple skin problems in one session.
- Improves overall skin brightness and texture.
